Lake Oconee Dentistry will host a free day of dental care, in association with Dentistry from the Heart, on Friday, September 30th at its office located at 1011 Parkside Main, between the Publix parking lot and the movie theater in Greensboro.
Drs. David and Patti Bradley will be joined by their associate Dr. Shelly Pound, as well as Lake Oconee Dentistry hygienists, dental assistants and other team members, to provide free extractions, fillings and cleanings for those in need. Dr. David Miller, an oral surgeon and owner of Lake Oconee Oral Surgery and Dental Implant Center, will also be donating his time, along with his team, in order to help as many people as possible.
This is the sixth year that Lake Oconee Dentistry is hosting this event. The last event, held in 2015, provided nearly $25,000 in free dental care to the local community. Dentistry from the Heart has become a way for Drs. David and Patti Bradley, and the Lake Oconee Dentistry team, to share their hearts with the lake area by making healthcare available and accessible to everyone.
“Now, more than ever, there are people in need of dental services who have no means to afford them — whether they are unemployed or experiencing some other serious financial difficulty,” says Dr. David Bradley. “Dentistry from the Heart is one of the many ways that Lake Oconee Dentistry is helping people in our local community.”
Doctors and volunteers will treat the first 100 patients, and possibly more if time allows that day. Treatment will be provided on a first-come, first-served basis. Event registration will begin at 7 a.m. and patients will be seen through 5 p.m. Patients must be at least 12 years of age to be seen, and accompanied by a parent or guardian if under the age of 18. Patients are encouraged to dress appropriately for the weather and to bring chairs, water, snacks, etc. as they wait outside for their turn. Community volunteers and other local groups will also be on hand to assist that day.
